I got to enjoy a great dinner with some friends on Friday night at Gloria's. It was good to talk and catch up. Saturday morning we bundled up and watched my brother cross the finish line at the Cowtown. He beat his time by 30 minutes from last year, I am so pround of him!

I am surrounded by super creative and crafty people!! I love seeing what they do and getting ideas from them. When Noah was born, Niki, my sister, my mom and Janet helped me make some cute letter for his room. I love them and haven't done any since. For my mom's birthday, she wanted something to hang over her washer and dryer in her laundry room. Kelly had the idea of decorating some letters again. After figuring out what we wanted to spell (thanks Brittany :)), we decorated the letters. We used paint, cute ribbons, and buttons. It was fun and turned out pretty cute. Mom loved it, too!
You can't tell on the "s," but it has cute ribbon going accrossThis weekend we got to celebrate Noah turning 9 months and Valentine's Day! Yes, maybe Valentine's Day is a little overrated, but I love pink and red and hearts and basically, it's just FUN!! But, turning 9 months is not overrated. Noah is turning into such a big boy. He's got his bottom two teeth, he loves to wave "hi" and he is finally crawling. He has also discovered that he can sit up in his crib when we put him down to take a nap or go to bed. This has resulted in late bedtimes and very short naps. He will sit in his crib for hours (literally) and cry or talk to himself, even when he is so exhausted and tired. I think we are both hoping this too is just a phase that will pass. Maybe the novelty of being able to sit up in his crib will wear off. Here are a few pictures from the last week.

Why do we buy toys, seriously??? I think I am going to start a little business that sells random items for babies and children to play with. Here are some things that will be available at my store: boxes, paper sacks, remote controls, cell phones, belts, clothespins, watches, buckets, paper (yes, just plain white paper), any kind of bottle or tube that holds something, etc.
Excuse the dirty bib :)Since today is cold, icy and dark, I thought I would post some pictures from a few weeks ago just to remember how you can go from 80 degrees to 20 degrees in no time here in Texas. It was one of the days when we had some really nice weather. Levi, Noah and I went out to Lake Grapevine and had a little picnic. Noah really enjoys being outside, and the dogs loved it too! We may not have gorgeous beaches with blue waters, but we have some nice little spots that make you say "thank you."
