He did it!

Almost 3 years ago Levi decided he wanted to quit his job and pursue law school. I knew it was something he had always had the desire to do. We took it one step at a time, praying along the way to make sure it was the right decision. We had just had Noah, and I was only working two days a week. We knew there would be a lot of changes to be made. First step was the LSAT, and Levi did well. So he applied several places and was accepted into SMU. Next he got a great scholarship that paid for a large part of his schooling. I am SO thankful for that, because I couldn't imagine what our student loans would be if we had not had that. I didn't realize how pricey those private schools are! Next up.....me going back to work full time. I wanted to be back in the schools and it just happened that the day I applied to Coppell was the exact same day they had posted a speech pathologist job with some specific criteria I met. It was definitely the place for me to be. The coworkers and friends I have made there have been a huge support system during the past few years. Things just seemed to fall into place. So, August of 2009 Levi started school, I went back to work full time, and Noah started daycare.

It's been a LOOOOOONG road. We honestly wouldn't have made it if we had not had the support of our family and friends. Encouragment, understanding, ears to listen, motivating words to keep us going, you name it. There were times when Levi wanted to quit and times when I wanted him to quit. I think we knew it wouldn't be easy, but I don't think we took into account everything, including the strain on our relationship and Noah going through ages 2 and 3 during this time. He became acutely aware of the unstructure going on in our house at times, espcecially when Levi's schedule had him gone days and evenings.

But on Dec. 16 he finished his last exam and is DONE with school. He will continue to work part time and participate in a review class 6 days a week that prepares him for the BAR in Feb. We are not positive what's in store for him yet, but we are extremely thankful he has a job to be at until decisions are made. I'll be off with the new baby until April 2 and will return to work until the end of the school year. Not sure about anything beyond that! Which is challenging for my controlling personality and need to plan :). We are trying to continue to be obedient to where God wants us to be, and trying to have patience and contentment just where we are.

I am VERY proud of Levi. He finished something that was not easy for him. Way to go, babe!
